Our Story.
At Oak & Almond Kitchens, we are dedicated to crafting spaces that feel truly personal, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Our story began humbly, with a passion for creating bespoke kitchens and fitted furniture that beautifully serve the people who use them every day.
Oak & Almond was founded by Caleb Howard-Almond, who grew up surrounded by art and creativity. After years of training under some of Brighton’s finest woodworkers, he developed a unique vision: to create furniture that would bring warmth, character, and functionality to homes while honouring timeless techniques and sustainable practices.
Starting with just a few small projects, Caleb’s craftsmanship and attention to detail quickly garnered a loyal following. Word spread, and soon Oak & Almond began to take shape as a design-led, values-driven business.
As the team grew, so did the range of offerings. From custom kitchens that are tailored to our clients’ lifestyles to fitted furniture and free standing items, each piece is crafted with care in our Sussex workshop on the edge of the South Downs.
We work closely with clients to ensure every detail feels right, from choosing the highest-quality, sustainably sourced wood to tailoring each drawer, cabinet, and surface to fit seamlessly into their space.
In recent years, we’ve had the pleasure of designing for families and homeowners across Sussex, each time bringing Caleb’s founding values of honesty, artistry, and function into homes that tell a unique story. Every project we undertake is a collaboration, driven by our commitment to creating pieces that honour existing architecture and are both beautiful, functional and built to stand the test of time.
As Oak & Almond continues to grow, we remain deeply connected to our roots – blending innovation with tradition, and using our skills to create spaces that feel like home. Our journey has been one of growth, discovery, and collaboration with clients who inspire us every day. With each new project, we’re reminded of why we began: to craft not just furniture, but meaningful, lasting connections to the spaces people love and connect in.

Caleb Howard-Almond
FOUNDER
Caleb Howard-Almond is the founder and principle creative force behind Oak Almond Kitchens, a business born from his deep-rooted passion for sustainable design, craftsmanship & innovation. Caleb’s journey into the world of carpentry began with a natural curiosity and a desire to combine functionality with beauty. After graduating from Brighton City College he honed his craft under the tutorage of David Jones, one of the best makers in Brighton. Every project driven by a need to create work that was both aesthetically striking and meaningful.

Anna Phillips
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Anna provides administrative support for Oak and Almond Carpentry. When you contact us, there’s a good chance she will be the first to assist you. She also works behind the scenes, providing administrative support to keep everything running smoothly.

Patrick Stokes
JOINER & CABINET MAKER
Patrick shares our workspace at the farm and specialises in Fine English joinery and cabinet making. Patrick is the guy we call on to support us on our bigger projects. We trust his design ethos and work ethic implicitly.

QUALITY CONTROL
Elise (aka The Weeman) has been an integral part of Oak & Almond since December 2020. As a professional quality control officer, nothing leaves our workshop without his paw of approval.
